StripWise
Pool & spa test strip scanner and log
StripWise is an Android app for pool and spa owners who test their own water. Photograph a dipped strip and it reads the pads for you, or skip the camera and type the numbers in; either way the result joins a dated log covering chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, stabilizer, salt, and bromine. When a value drifts out of range, the dosing calculator works out how much to add in the exact products you keep in the shed, in the units on the bottle. It balances water, not people: no medical or swimmer-safety advice, and no affiliation with any strip brand.
Any brand of strip
Photograph the dipped strip, and add a shot of its bottle's color chart if you have one to hand. Nothing here is built around a single manufacturer's product line. Free accounts get three scans a month; entering values by hand is unlimited.
It tells you when it can't read a pad
A pad that's blurred, cut off, or sitting between two swatches comes back blank rather than as a guessed number, and you review and confirm every value before the reading saves.
Dosing in your own chemicals
Liquid chlorine at 6, 10, or 12.5 percent, cal-hypo, or dichlor for the sanitizer, plus corrections for pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, stabilizer, and salt. A saturation index card says whether the water is corrosive, balanced, or scaling. You confirm the amount and follow the product's own label.
Typing it in is always free
Manual entry covers free and total chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, CYA, salt, bromine, and water temperature. Fill in what your kit actually measures; leave the rest empty.
Pools, spas, and hot tubs
Chlorine, salt, or bromine as the sanitizer, and a plaster, vinyl, or fiberglass surface that feeds the saturation math. One body of water on the free plan.
Trends over 30 or 90 days (Pro)
Each parameter charted against its target range, shaded behind the line, so a slow alkalinity drift shows up while it's still cheap to fix.

Signing in takes an email address. Your pools, readings, and strip photos are stored on Hexar's servers so the log survives a reinstall, syncs to a second phone, and can be charted over a season; a scan photo also goes to our AI provider at the moment you ask for a read. We sell nothing to advertisers, and Settings will export the whole log to CSV free of charge. The privacy policy names every processor we use, and deleting your account removes the pool and test history with it.
Always store, handle, and add pool chemicals per the manufacturer's instructions.
